Switch'n it up

Recently, Yankees center fielder Johnny Damon has been bating in the number two spot. he has been on his game every at bat. manager Joe Girardi likes Damon batting second so much he is thinking about keeping him there for the season. Derek Jeter, starting shortstop, has batted second in 448 games hitting .316. If we are looking at the stats, it doesnt seem like a smart move. we'll see what happens during this offseason, and we'll see if Damon can earn his spot batting second.

The Battle for Center field

Melky Cabrera or Brett Gardner? You make the choice. recently, during spring training, it has been a battle for center field. Brett Gardner had an explosive start while melky wasn't so fortunate. Brett hit .382 coming into Thursday game but melky wasn't going to let him down that easy. he came up with a big game hitting raising his average to a mere .242. that's not very high, but considering where he was three weeks ago, that's very impressive."Melky is playing at a very high level says manager Joe girardi. it's going to be a fight for the finish for these two players. we'll see who comes out on top!

Joba's coming back

recently, star pitcher Joba chamberlain signed a one year deal with the yanks. he accepted a one year $432,575 contract. Joba is a force to be reckoned with and a great asset to the Yankee organization. With the power, intensity, and poise of chamberlain, the Yankees will have an amazing year. he is only one of the Yankees powerful pitchers in there rotation. the Yankees' pitching will be nearly unstoppable this season and will get them a shot at the pennant.

A-Rod on STEROIDS??????

On February 7, 2009, Star third baseman, Alex Rodriguez, admitted to taking performance enhancing drugs over a three year period. While playing for the Texas Rangers, Alex said that he was taking steroids for three years. "It was very loose. I was young. I was stupid. I was naive. And I wanted to prove to everyone that I was worth being one of the greatest players of all time." he said in a press conference. It takes a big man to admit to cheating in baseball. the fact that he is the only one to admit to using drugs is incredible. A-Rod was always a great player, and there has always been speculations about steroids. I respect A-Rod for coming clean.
